Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange Inc
Membership Agreement
(as amended 13 May 2011)

  1. Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange is a local, non-profit Trading system.  Its rights and authorities are vested in the Green Dollar Management Committee who act as agents for the members.

  2. The main function of Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange is to provide a service, which allows members to exchange information and to trade among themselves.

  3. A WAIS [Green Dollar] shall be considered to represent the same value as a New Zealand dollar.

  4. Members undertake to consider trading wholly or partly in WAIS [Green Dollars]. Members are not obliged to make a trade at all, or to trade in WAIS in any particular transaction.

  5. The Management Committee may decline to record a transaction or directory entry, which they regard as inappropriate for legal or other reasons.

  6. Members are accountable for any taxes they incur through trading.  Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange has no obligation or liability to report to Inland Revenue or to collect taxes on its behalf.

  7. Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange Management Committee is not responsible for the value, condition or quality of goods and services exchanged by members, but the Management Committee will take action to safeguard the interests of other members.

  8. When necessary, the Management Committee may act on behalf of the membership to seek explanation, payment or satisfaction from any member considered to be acting contrary to the interest of other members.  As a last resort, they may remove members from the system.

  9. The Management Committee is authorised to levy fair and reasonable charges on members’ accounts in WAIS.

  10. To assist fair and healthy trading a member may know the ID#, balance and turnover of other member’s account at any time.

  11. A member whose account is in debit and who intends leaving the district, or resigning from the exchange must inform the Management Committee in writing and settle their account, if necessary in NZ$. Management may engage the services of a Collection Agency to recover money owing on the account balances of departing members.

  12. Members agree to pay a joining fee and an annual subscription.

By clicking here I acknowledge that I have read the above terms of use and conditions and are bound by them to the CES and WAIS and their administrators as well as to other users. I am also subject to prevailing terms and conditions regarding inter-group trading. I acknowledge further that these terms and conditions may be changed by the CES or WAIS administration from time to time and I undertake to keep myself abreast of any changes. Participation will be subject to the terms of use prevailing at the time.
